Manuel Costa - album "Eu sou uma Ilha" (CD)

The CD features 16 songs, being two of them new: "Canção do Garajau", with lyrics by Manuel Tomás and music by Manuel Costa and "Esquema" with lyrics by Almeida Firmino and music by Manuel Costa.

The other themes are traditional and contemporary Azorean music, such as "Chamateia", "Tirana", "Boi do Mar", "Cantiga da Terra", "O Cantador", "Fado dos Açores", "Velho Pezinho","Montanha do meu destino", "Poema destinado a haver Domingo","Partir é morrer um pouco","Barquinha Feiticeira" and "Ilhas de Bruma".

Recorded during the first half of 2018 at Teatro Micaelense, with voices and guitar by Manuel Costa, Mike Ross on bass, Paulo Vicente on piano (tuned by Márcio Vargas), Manuel Rocha on violin, Rafael Carvalho on guitar and Francisco Costa on percussion.

The capture, editing, mixing and mastering was the responsibility of the Studio of Emanuel Cabral. During the recordings the photographer Manuel Resendes captured the images that compose the booklet of 16 pages that accompanies the CD "Eu sou uma Ilha".
