Dive in Azores
This kid’s rain cape with hood was designed to stimulate children’s connection with the Ocean. The hood lining displays a ‘dive with sperm whales in the Azores’ scene by Nuno Sá, where kids can shelter from rain with wonder and excitement.

Adjustable Size
Children grow out of clothes really fast. For parents, perhaps the biggest advantage of this rain cape is its cost-effectiveness. Two snaps placed on the cape allow an adjustment on the arm’s length. It fits children from 5 to 12 years old.

Cultural Heritage as Inspiration
The AzoreanHood is inspired by the Capote e capelo, a traditional Azorean costume used until the 1930s, whose capo was modeled with whalebones. Whaling in the Azores reached its peak in the years 1896-1949, with the hunting of 12,000 whales. The last whales were hunted in the Azores in 1987.

Handmade in the Azores
The AzoreanHood is handmade on Terceira Island, in the Azores. The company is a partner of a workshop that is a solidarity economy project of a private social solidarity institution. The professionals who make Begs & Bags' high quality products work in safe conditions and earn fair wages.

Upcycled Marine Plastic
The AzoreanHood is made with SEAQUAL® YARN containing Recycled Marine Plastic. In collaboration with NGOs, fishermen and local communities, the SEAQUAL INITIATIVE helps clean marine litter from our oceans. Begs & Bags is a proud member of the SEAQUAL INITIATIVE.

Water Repellent
The PU coating applied to the outer fabrics of the AzoreanHood is 100% polyurethane and provides strong water-repellent characteristics, while maintaining the fabric's breathability. It also makes it more robust and tear resistant.
