About the Author: Francisco Ferreira Drummond was born in São Sebastião Parish, January 21, 1796, and died in São Sebastião Village, September 11, 1858. He was a historian, paleographer, musician, organ maker and politician with great civic activity in the village of San Sebastian on the island of Terceira in the Azores.

His published work occupies a prominent place in the Azorean history, being the basis for much of the works on the history of the Azores, in particular on the history of the Island.
